Serum-free cell culture media is expected to gamer greater revenues than serum-requiring media by 2007.

Biotechnology firms are demanding greater amounts of serum-free media, including protein-free and synthetic media, used for gene therapy, monoclonal antibodies, and wound repair.

New analysis by the healthcare group at Frost & Sullivan (www.healthcare.frost-com), "U.S.

Select Cell Culture Markets," indicates the total market will rise from $410 million in 2000 to more than $582 million by 2007. Despite this steady growth projection, regulatory guidelines could restrict the use of some products.
