Afc’s FEP Cryopreservation Bags (sealed on all four sides) and
Cryopreservation Pouches (sealed on three sides only) are ideal
as cell and tissue cryopreservation containers because of the
following features and properties:
Durable and Flexible. FEP remains
flexible, without glass transition. from -238° C through +205°
C. This means you can freeze in liquid nitrogen (-196° C) and/or
autoclave (typically 115 – 121° C) in the same bag.
Biologically, Chemically, and
Immunologically Inert. FEP contains no plasticizers of any
type (e.g., DEHP free).
Optically Clear. FEP has a light
transmission of > 95% in the UV, visible and infrared spectra.
This means you can microscopically observe your cells through
the bag walls.
Closed System. Contents can be added
via or removed through the PVC filling tubes through standard
sterile docking techniques.
Breakage Resistant. In addition to
the innate strength of the bags and their astounding thermal
range, the bag designs include slightly rounded corners which
impede the formation of ice crystals which could potentially
puncture square corners.
Easy to Label. Integral label pockets
prevent label loss or mixup and provide label protection in all
environments from autoclave to liquid nitrogen.
Easy Filling and Easy Removal. Bags
have multiple port configurations and connector options to
facilitate easy addition and removal of contents. Pouches are
open on one side for introduction of large bulk objects, such as
tissues.
Single Use and Tamper Evident Spike
Ports. Spike ports are embedded within the perimeter of the
bag, protected by integral tear- away sterility covers which
render the design tamper evident and single use.
Protection Pockets for
Samples, and Aliquots. The bag design may include integral,
heat sealable pockets to store samples or aliquots. Samples and
aliquots are easily created by heat-sealing across the PVC
filling tube to create segments, placing the segments in the
designated protection pocket, and heat sealing the protection
pocket.
